Meatlike carmalized tofu




16 oz extra firm tofu

1 tsp. green tobasco

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground pepper

1/2 tsp granulated garlic

1/4 C. olive oil


Nicly crusted tofu that tastes like meat


Cube the tofu. Toss it in with all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix together. Preheat the grill pan to medium high heat put tofu in the pan and cook for 45 minutes. Be sure to store every five or so minutes until the tofu is thoroughly dry and brown on all sides and most of the moisture is gone. You might want to reduce the heat a little bit if you start to see too much burning. Be sure to oil the pan before you put the TOfu into it. The remaining oil should keep everything fine.
