One bag of cranberries
big tote of Macintosh apples
sweeteners of various sorts to taste
1/2 cup algulose or sugar
1/2 cup sugar
remaining sweetness to taste
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
Kind of a fun thanksgiving option instead of plain old applesauce.
Wash and core the apples. Place in a steaming basket and steam until done. Using a Foley food Mill process the apples until they are done. I like to process them really well until all the skins are thoroughly done. Be sure to steam until the apples are quite squishy.
Once the apples are done, make the cranberry sauce pretty simple. One cup of water, one cup of sweetener boil until they all pop and then put in the food mill.
Combine the two, add sweetener and cinnamon until it's the way you like.
